Calstone was nominated for a 2008 Green Toronto Award in the “Market Transformation” Category.

This Award recognizes the efforts of a manufacturer, retailer, NGO, marketing company, or an individual promoter or designer to utilize market forces successfully, to promote products, services and choices which lessen the impact on the environment and human health. Calstone has been recognized for their commitment to change the manufacturing industry to be less of an impact on the environment. This nomination is due to all of the hard work and diligence of all the staff at Calstone. Whether it be the office staff or the plant employees this nomination could not have happened without everyone’s commitment and support to the “greening” of Calstone.

The many environmental changes in Calstone’s office and manufacturing facility and our revolutionary Remanufacturing Program all contributed to achieving this outstanding nomination. “The Green Toronto Awards recognize that everyone can show environmental leadership and contribute to a cleaner, greener and more sustainable city. I congratulate all of our nominees, finalists and award winners, and I hope their success inspires everyone in Toronto, and beyond Toronto, to be part of the solution.” said Mayor David Miller. All Finalists and winners were announced at the annual Green Toronto Awards ceremony at the Direct Energy Centre in conjunction with the Green Living Show on April 25, 2008. Unfortunately Calstone did not win the award but our nomination alone was truly an honour and a step in the right direction. We are very thankful for the awareness this nomination has created for Calstone.
